Principle purpose of the job: 

To ensure swift resolution of any Plant breakdowns on the Seaham Site. To assist the Maintenance Manager in the completion of the Seaham Site PPM Schedule on a daily, weekly and annual basis. To provide a 24 hour Engineering Cover for the Site in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager.

Main tasks and responsibilities: 

1. Ensure that all faults / breakdowns are dealt with immediately and that any Plant Downtime is kept to a minimum.

2. Demonstrate a team approach with regard to maintenance and hygiene of equipment and support of pro-duction operators.

3. Provide support to the team during breaks and absences and work together to ensure completion of their duties.

4. Follow all work instructions, procedures, job descriptions at all times.

5. Ensure that all Work Orders, PM's issued to the shift are completed.

6. Complete all necessary paper work.

7. Work with other functions as part of the manufacturing team to ensure efficient running of the equipment and carry out prioritized work as agreed.

8. Compliance with Company policies, procedures and regulations (e.g. attendance, quality, safety, GMP's, etc.) and ensure these are followed to maintain the required standards (e.g. Food Safety, PPE etc.).

9. Order spare parts as required on shift if unavailable from stock and contact contractors/suppliers as re-quired in order to resolve problems on shift.

10. Ensure all parts removed from stores while on shift are booked out of stores in the correct way

11. Where necessary, must initiate the purchase of parts or equipment completing the relevant order requisi-tion forms with relevant information.

12. Provide the Lead Engineer with information on all engineering downtime attended on shift, related quality issue, work orders completed, PM's completed and other details as required.

13. Identify and analyse potential Production Loss problems before they occur and either rectify or ensure action is taken to solve at the earliest opportunity.

14. Ensure remedial works to equipment raised by work order or PM's are highlighted to the Maintenance Manager .

15. Complete “Permit to Work' system when appropriate.

16. Ensure that at the end of every Shift a Full and Complete Record of all your activities are entered onto the Maintenance System and that the Production Teams, Maintenance Management Team and the following Shift Engineering Team have all the relevant information to hand to allow both the safety of the Site, con-tinued Production and possible problems to be continued and resolved without problem.

17. Out of normal Office Hours take the lead in supervising any Contractors required to attend Site, sign off their agreed work and ensure the Maintenance Management Team are informed of all actions.


18. Use of power tools, drills, grinders, cutting equipment, saws, files, presses and hand tools associated with carrying out the normal course of your duties.

19. Use of ladders, steps, scaffolding or walkways during the course of carrying out your normal duties.

Qualifications and Skills required: 

Previous food processing industry experience highly desirable
Electrical and/or mechanical qualifications/time served apprenticeship.
2 Years experience of working in an automated production environment.
A good standard of both written and oral English
Basic Food Hygiene
Basic Health & Safety
Data and analytical skills
Computer literate. (word/excel/windows based packages)
Desirable skills :- PLC's, pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature control, instrumentation, welding.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Greet all visitors on arrival at the company in an efficient and polite manner dealing with their requirements as appropriate.

• Assist with organisation of social events.

• Organise some facilities activities i.e. window clears, hedge cutters. • Update and maintain site Telephone directory and supplier list.

• Assist with site and departmental audits as required.

• Assist with set up and maintain allocation of staff personal lockers and swipe cards.

• Assist with ordering of uniforms.

Maintenance Planner NEW

Principal Purpose of Job

To run the site CM MS and to be hands on to maintain the site services and cover for stores

Main Tasks and Responsibilites

• Obtain the Maintenance Managers signature of approval for all Purchase Requisitions and the Engineering Manager's signature for all Purchase Requisitions. • File delivery notes of all received parts, and logs delivered parts on SAP when needed. • Maintain the parts areas in a clean, neat and organised condition. • Ship parts for repair as required.

• Observe & apply all Health & Safety policies & procedures. • Ensure all statutory testing is maintained in line with EU & UK legislation. • Ensure housekeeping is maintained in line with the factory clean-as-you-go policy during and after maintenance work. • Manage contractors when needed in line with company Management of Contractors procedure. • Use root cause analysis to continuously reduce factory downtime.

• Support factory audits and visits. • Meet KPI as specified and compile KPI reports. • Provide support to team during breaks and absences and work together with Engineers in the completion of their duties when needed. • Keep the site CMMS system up to date. • Maintain the site services and when need organise contractors to assist.

• Ensure that all work orders, PM's issued to the team are completed. • Log all completed work orders on the PM system. • Help ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. • Efficiently manage, facilitate and work with teams to resolve mechanical and/or electrical problems in a timely fashion.

• Order spare parts as required on shift if unavailable from stock and contact contractors/suppliers as required in order to resolve problems. • Ensure all parts removed from stores while on shift are booked out of stores in the correct way. • Where necessary, must initiate the purchase of parts, tools or equipment completing the relevant order requisition forms with relevant information handing them into the Engineering Stores Administrator for processing. • Assist the teams identify and analyse problems together before crises and determine appropriate action and follow-up.

• Ensure remedial works to equipment raised by work order or PM's are highlighted to the Engineering Manager. • Ensure compliance of “Permit to Work' system at weekends/nights by all employees/contractors. • Deputise for the Stores Administrator as required. • Read the Maintenance Log Book daily.

QA Technician NEW

Principal purpose of the role

To assist the Quality Supervisor to maintain, verify & monitor the Food Safety, Quality Systems & Product Quality within the business, to meet internal, customer & third party requirements.

To promote a Quality Culture within the business. Monitor & verify all Quality Control Points and CCP's. Promoting Good Manufacturing Practices & Continuous Improvements throughout the factory environment.


Main tasks

 To carry out relevant Quality checks according to the Quality Assurance Plans.
 Monitor & verify the traceability system through the production process.
 Provide Quality information for SAP report purposes( e.g. Moisture).
 Shall ensure only current versions of controlled documentation are in use in the factory.
 Ensure effective Record keeping of all production records critical to quality and product safety.
 To be competent in testing Finished Products within a laboratory environment.
 Work with the Factory Team to develop “production ownership” of Quality.
 Work with the Factory Team to promote GMP's.
 Work with the factory team to drive Continuous Improvement
 Assisting with corrective action implementation.
 Monitoring internal and external foreign body issues & report weekly.
 Reporting QA KPI's.
 Conduct factory audits including, GMP, Fabric, Hygiene, Glass & Plastics audits & Internal System Audits
 Collect Microbiological & Chemical Samples & liaise with the external lab.
 Carry out micro swabbing , environmental, hand swabs, etc.
 Collection of samples for shelf-life monitoring or for customer sample purposes.
 Shelf life and organoleptic testing & trending.
 To be actively involved in customer complaint investigations.
 Manage the Equipment Calibration & Verification Plan.
 Manage the laboratory consumables stock control.
 Assist in Mock Recalls/Traceability Exercises.
 Shall be actively involved in 1st, 2nd & 3rd party audits.
 Awareness of site GMO policy and requirements.
 To carry out any other duties as instructed by the Quality Supervisor
